Essence of Joy performs sacred and secular music from the African American traditions, and is directed by Dr. Anthony T. Leach.
Essence has released three compact disc projects, The Soul and Spirit of Essence (1998), Essence Live (2000), and Lift Every Voice and Sing (2002).
All three CDs were recorded, mixed and mastered by Bob Klotz.
Bob also records Essence of Joy's regular Spring, Fall, Christmas, and Celebration of African American Spirituals concerts.
