Arthur Goldstein
is a pianist living in State College, PA.
A quote
from the Intersections liner notes:
"This
recording would not have been possible without the complete musical
and artistic commitment of Bob Klotz, a recording engineer of the first
rank, whose devotion to music and sonic craft is singular. He
has helped me immeasurably in achieving the close-up and detailed sound
world that I believe is the piano at its best."
From a review
of Piano Solos:
"The Berg
is worth the price of the disc... for that we are grateful to him."
Bob
Cole, in Voices of Central Pennsylvania September 1998
From a review
of Intersections:
"Goldstein
...inviting the listener to consider the modernity..of Bach, while exposing
the deeply ancient roots in more contemporary pieces..by Alan Hovhaness
and even Jelly Roll Morton...Debussy's 'Bruyere(Feathers)' is full of
emotive power..."
Matt Swayne
for the Centre Daily Times July 2002

Archie
Blue New
Day Comin'
label: Red Dog Records |
If you
were anywhere near State College in the early 80's, you have memories
of Archie Blue. The band featured Arthur Goldstein on piano
and vocals.
New Day Comin' was produced by Van Dyke Parks and recorded at Filmspace
Studios in State College, PA in 1981. Tracks have been
heard on ABC's Dateline, and you may still be able to find a copy
lurking in the vinyl section of a State College music shop.
I've restored and digitally transferred the original multitrack master
tapes (with the help of Chris Younken and his Tascam MS16) for New
Day Comin', plus 5 other tunes recorded after the album's release,
and some live material recorded at State College's infamous Scorpion.
Plans are in process to remix New Day Comin' with all additional tracks. Stay
tuned... |
