RECITAL RECORDING

 

RECITAL PACKAGE for Penn State Students and Faculty

This package only applies to recordings performed at Esber Recital Hall. Other venues will require an additional $30.00 fee because of
extra setup time and equipment.

 

 

ESSENTIAL RECORDING PLUS EDITING/PROCESSING - $150.00

  • 2 RECORDING HOURS
    Clock starts 1/2 hour before beginning of performance for setup time. Additional recording time over the 2 hour package is charged at $60.00 per hour.
  • RECITAL HALL NOISE REDUCTION
    Esber Recital Hall at Penn State University has noticeable residual noise even when the ventilation system is turned off. I significantly reduce this type of noise.
  • GRAPHICS
    Graphics file to print your own CD inserts. Info is taken from your program.
  • VOLUME
    Volume of the audio is increased using a digital peak limiter. Without peak limiting, your audio volume will be significantly lower than normal.
  • EDITING
    Fade-in at beginning of each selection, fade-out at end of each selection. 2 seconds of applause at full volume with a 6 second fade-out.
  • 1 DVD-ROM
    Contains edited/processed audio in 16 and 24 bit formats (for CDs and video DVDs), graphics file for printing CD inserts, plus origiinal recording session audio.

 

 

 

 

Payment in full is required prior to or at the time of the performance.

 


Optional Rehearsal Recording

I often get requests to record rehearsals.  Editing audio from both the rehearsal and recital allows you to create the best performance.  In this case, the Recital Package would not apply. Here is how we would approach this situation:

  • Recording time for the rehearsal and recital would be at the location recording rate.
  • The clock starts 1/2 hour before the start of each session to allow for setup, and a 1.5 hour minimum applies.
  • I provide audio CDs with take sheets of the rehearsal and the performance.
  • You choose the best pieces from these CDs and I perform the edits at the studio rate.
  • You may work with me while we perform the edits.

LOCATION RECORDING

Location recording is performed using a stereo microphone pair.

Contact me if you need to do a multi-track recording on location.

1.5 hour minimum charge.  The clock starts when I arrive to begin setup.

D.A.V BG-1 microphone pre-amp - D.A.V. electronics is a small company based in Twickenham, England. Formed in 1997 by Mick Hinton, ex Decca Record Co. service & design engineer of 28 years. Dave Gilmour (Pink Floyd) and Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) are enthusiastic users!
